How to make money in Second Life
There are various ways to make money.
1. Become a premium member
Second Life presents you with an endless variety of ways to spend your Linden Dollars, but supporting your lavish lifestyle will eventually mean deciding on a way to earn a bit more walking around money. It will cost you money to become a premium member but you will receive Stipend each week of L$ 300.
2. Contest
You can also attend an contest like best dressed boy or girl, and try to win some money. You’ll notice that many of the trivia contests, treasure hunts, show & tell, etc. events give out Linden Dollar rewards to winners.
You can join the Contest Lovers group for announcements (go to Search, Groups, type Contest Lovers, and join to become a member). Also check out Search, Events to see what contests and events are currently running. You can also see all events at http://secondlife.com/events/
3. Money trees
Pick the money from a Money Tree! In Second Live Linden dollars grow at trees that a new users (usually younger than 30 days) may pick. People put them up to help new users get started. Money Trees are all over Second Life. Go to Search, Places, then type money tree and teleport! You can also join Money tree lovers groups, go to Search, Groups, type money tree, and join a group.
4. Start your own business
You’ll also find a healthy economy within the community, where players trade both goods and services. With a little work and ingenuity, you can be Second Life’s next big fashion designer, jet pack inventor, or real estate developer. For example, you can create pets, vehicles, houses, furniture, games, clothing, shoes, decorations, jewellery, plants, guns, timepieces, signs, fountains, animals, or even a new body! It’s all about your creativity.
To sell an item, just select it, choose edit, and check off the “for sale” box and name your price. If you own land, you can place your creations there to display, or you can make a deal with another resident to help you sell your item in their store. Please keep in mind, a good policy to keep is to only sell items you have created from scratch, or that another resident has given you permission to sell in writing.
5. Camping
Camping is sitting, dancing or just hanging round and make money at the same time. Most popular sim is HippiePay Island or Money Island. Some want you to fill out surveys, you can earn money with that. Most camping spots pay 1 L$ per 5 minutes. You can find more camping spots by using Search, Places, type camp and teleport!
You can join camping groups to receive information about good campingspots. Try Campingconnections, go to Search, Groups, type campingconnections, and join to become a member.
6. Modelling
To promote products in Second Life creators use models for pictures. Some also let you stand wearing their clothes. ++ Java Models ++ is a group for clothing modelling. You can join models groups to get more information on how to get a port folio and jobs will be posted in this group. Go to Search, Groups, type models inc, and join to become a member.
7. Money chairs & Xploder
Like Money Trees you can get free money when you find Money Chairs. If your first name starts with the letter on the chair, you sit and collect money. Usually its 1 L$ a time.
Xploders are piggies or pots of gold who give money to avatars who enter the pot. All you have to day is wait until the time has passed and you get money. Some pots are mixed mode (this means most avatars get a little money and a few avatars get a big price). How much you get depends on what’s in the pot and how many avatars entered. Sometimes you have to be a group member to enter. Visit this website to get an overview of the xploders http://tmyentertainment.com/index.php/xploder/tracker-light
Spending your earned money
It’s not just about making the big dollars, you can spend them too. Most things in Second Life will cost you some money to buy (such as objects in resident stores, or to buy land), but you can sometimes find things that are “Free to Copy”, like Java’s freebies. Click here to go to the freebies & dress4less store. If something is for sale, or free to copy, you can see this information when you briefly hover your mouse pointer over the object. It will either say “Free to Copy” or “For Sale” with a Linden Dollar price. If you want nice places to shop try Java Oriental or Java Main Store
Do you really need money to enjoy Second Life? No way! Your avatar does not need to eat, sleep, or even need shelter. You also have an unlimited amount of building supplies, provided free; you’ll never run out of cloth, lumber, or stone! It costs nothing to build your creations in a sandbox sim. If you want to be romantic you come over to Java Island where all is free to use. So look for places that don’t charge you to get in.

lol most of the comments people enter make me giggle, in certain cases i contemplate if they realistically read the content and content before writing or whether they take a moment to read the title of the article and jot down the first thought that one thinks of. nonetheless, it is actually pleasant to browse through intelligent commentary every now and then in contrast to the same, old post vomit which i quite often observe on the internet cheers
