Lots of work done so far and more to come 
But i don’t mind, i love SL even if it’s laggy. I think it will become better and better as new technical improvements will be introduced.
I just visited Bay city, a new project of SL. Islands joined together, themed in styles appropriate to the period 1930 to 1960. I like that style, looks great. Unfortunately sim crossings still don’t go very well, but i did see most of it. I took a few pics:
